KBR Awarded KMG-Aero and KFP SAF Contract
KBR has been given a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production plant contract by KazMunayGas-Aero (KMG-Aero) and KazFoodProducts (KFP). The plant will be the first SAF production site in Kazakhstan.

KBR will license Swedish Biofuels’ PureSAF technology and provide engineering design for the production plant, which will use alcohol-to-jet to produce SAF.

Jay Ibrahim, President of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions, commented: “We are honoured to support KMG-Aero and KFP in advancing the national commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, recognising the pivotal role of aviation decarbonisation in achieving these strategic objectives. KBR’s PureSAF is a feed-flexible, bankable technology that is designed to deliver high SAF yields and supports the project across the full lifecycle. We look forward to closely collaborating and supporting the successful execution of this landmark SAF project.”
