Ahead of the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation implementation, eFuel Alliance hosted a lunch event the European Parliament that discussed how to accelerate sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) deployment while safeguarding European competitiveness.
The event, titled “SAF Integration and ReFuelEU Aviation Revision”, was moderated by Cynthia Ní Mhurchú MEP and included keynote speeches from eFuel Alliance CEO Ralf Diemer; Eddy Liégeois, Head of Unit Aviation Policy at DG MOVE (European Commission); Monika Rybakowska, Policy Director at Airlines for Europe; Leigh Abrams, Senior Business Leader of Emerging Renewable Fuels at Honeywell; and Jukka Siukosaari, Senior VP of Government Affairs and Global Politics at Neste.
According to eFuel Alliances’ press release, the event “focused on what is needed to scale urgent renewable SAF and electric-SAF (e-SAF) production in Europe, how investment certainty and market incentives can be achieved while preserving the competitiveness of the EU aviation industry, and which policy considerations must be made in light of the ReFuelEU framework.”
