Edisun Power Europe has acquired the business operations of SMARTENERGY Group, combining the business operations of both companies.
SMARTENERGY has granted Edisun Power a vendor loan in the amount of the purchase price agreed under the purchase agreement, totalling just under CHF 440 million (€470 million).
From now, Edisun will focus on three compliance markets aimed at reducing CO2 emissions: renewable energy for data centres; electro-sustainable aviation fuels (e-SAF) and other power-to-X (PtX) applications; and photovoltaic and wind energy, with energy storage systems.
In its press release, Edisun Power stated: “In order to strengthen and ensure Edisun Power’s long-term growth, Edisun Power and SMARTENERGY Group concluded a purchase agreement on 23 August 2026, to consolidate the business operations of both companies within Edisun. On 29 May 2026, the Annual General Meeting had already approved the proposals put forward by the Board of Directors in this regard, thereby paving the way for this business takeover.”
