The German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) has chosen to fund Synhelion under its Produktives.NRW programme for the construction of a commercial demonstration plant for renewable synthetic fuels. The project is one of nine that will receive a share of €90 million from the Just Transition Fund, aiming to support industrial innovation in the Rhenish region and northern Ruhr area.
The synthetic fuel plant will be situated in Brainergy Park, Jülich, Germany, and is Synhelion’s second plant – building on the strength of its first project DAWN. Where DAWN derisked and validated Synhelion’s technology, the next plant will establish commercial operability.
