Goldwind Green Energy Chemicals, a subsidiary of Goldwind Technology, is planning to scale its e-methanol production to an annual 1.45 million tonnes by the end of 2027.
The wind-powered e-methanol production plant is situated in Xing'an League, Inner Mongolia, and has a current output of 500,000 tonnes a year. The first batch of its e-methanol was shipped in September 2026, after Goldwind signed offtake agreements with companies including Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd.
According to Goldwind Green Energy Chemicals, the site has obtained full-chain green certification, an ISO carbon footprint certification, and China’s first renewable fuel of non-biological origin green hydrogen certification for e-methanol.
