Yoann Matot, eNG Project Director at TotalEnergies & President of TotalEnergies Hydrogen Holdings US, has been appointed as Chair of the e-NG Coalition. Koji Hirayama, General Manager of Bio- and e-NG Business Department at Mitsubishi Corporation, has also been named Vice-Chair.
Matot will take over from Board Member Kristina Gjinaj, bringing more than 15 years of international experience in gas infrastructure, LNG commercialisation, renewable hydrogen and electro-natural gas (e-NG) project development to the Chair role. Within TotalEnergies, he has been involved in developing industrial-scale renewable hydrogen and e-NG projects. Matot commented: “Around the world, projects are advancing, investment is accelerating, and the industry is demonstrating that e-NG can become a scalable solution for decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors while making use of existing gas infrastructure. The e-NG Coalition has an essential role to play in bringing together industry, policymakers and stakeholders to help build the regulatory and market conditions needed for this transition. I am honoured to serve as Chair and look forward to working with our members to continue driving the sector forward.”
Hirayama has experience in LNG marketing, business development and e-NG commercialisation with a strong track record in the Asian and global energy markets. He currently leads Mitsubishi’s efforts to expand its bio- and e-methane businesses. Hirayama said: “e-NG has the potential to connect regions with abundant resources to sectors seeking practical decarbonisation solutions. Achieving that vision will require strong international cooperation, certification systems and well-functioning markets. As Vice-Chair of the e-NG Coalition, I am pleased to support our members in advancing these shared priorities and accelerating the global deployment of e-NG.”
