Axens and Wison Engineering sign MoU for e-SAF Project

Axens and Wison Engineering have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and electro-SAF (e-SAF). The partnership will combine Axens’ process technology and expertise, and Wison Engineering’s global supply chain integration and project execution.

According to Axens’ press release, “the collaboration will support selected SAF project developers that will improve cost predictability and control, streamline early project development processes and timelines, enhance schedule certainty, address key barriers to bankability and support greater readiness for final investment decision and commercial deployment.”

Hengwei Liu, Chief Technology Officer of Wison Engineering, commented: “The challenge for SAF and e-SAF is no longer technology alone – it is how to turn proven technologies into predictable, bankable and scalable industrial projects. By combining Axens’ process technology with Wison’s capabilities in standardised and modularised engineering, global supply chain integration and project execution, we aim to reduce development complexity, improve cost and schedule uncertainty, and create solutions that can be efficiently replicated across markets. Ultimately, this is about shortening the path from technology to FID and commercial deployment.”

Jacques Rault, EVP Technology and Technical Support, Axens, said: “We are delighted to work alongside Wison Engineering to combine their respective strengths to help address critical project development challenges, including execution complexity, investment risk and schedule uncertainty. By bringing Carboverseo and Gasel (respectively Reverse Water Gas Shift, Fischer Tropsch and Upgrading) technology expertise and Wison’s engineering and modular execution capabilities, we aim to provide our customers with a more integrated and efficient pathway, from project definition to commercial operation.”
