Fluxys has proposed the extension of its existing biomethane liquification services to include e-methane through its Market Consultation 75, which will remain open until 10 September 2026.
The services are based at Zeebrugge LNG Terminal, Belgium, where the extension would create a unified renewable methane liquification service that covers both biomethane and e-methane, also known as e-natural gas (e-NG). Subject to approval from CREG, Fluxys aims to offer e-NG liquification services from the end of 2026.
In a LinkedIn post, the e-NG Coalition stated: “This is a significant milestone for the development of the European e-LNG market. By establishing a pathway for the liquefaction of e-NG at one of Europe’s key LNG terminals, the proposal could help facilitate the commercialization, trading and physical delivery of e-LNG and support the expected demand growth from the maritime and road transport sectors.”
