H4 Marseille Vos and Rhône Decarbonisation have signed a strategic partnership for France’s first carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) project. The agreement secures 50% of H4 Marseille Vos’ CO2 needs by 2040.
Rhône Decarbonisation is a joint collaboration between Vicat, Société du Pipeline Sud-Européen and Elengy that will capture and transport CO2 emissions along the Rhône corridor. The partnership with H4 Marseille Fos, a flagship project producing electro-sustainable aviation fuels (e-SAF) located in the Fos-sur-Mer industrial port area, France, will use this CO2 for operations.
Eric Bourdon, deputy CEO, Vicat, said: “This partnership with H4 Marseille Fos is a key step for Rhône Décarbonation. It shows that Rhône Décarbonation isn’t just a capture project; it’s a complete industrial value chain, from the chimneys of our cement plants to the industrial users. We’re creating the conditions for real and competitive decarbonisation for the industrial sector in the South of France.”
