Velocys, a specialist in Fischer-Tropsch (FT) technology for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and low-carbon fuels, has signed an agreement with Morimatsu to provide engineering and manufacturing support for its FT reactors and related equipment. The systems will be deployed in projects based on Velocys’ proprietary microFTL™ technology.

The partnership is designed to cut lead times, lower capital costs and reduce project execution risks for developers. By combining Velocys’ FT expertise with Morimatsu’s global reputation for process equipment and modular fabrication, the collaboration aims to deliver faster, more cost-effective solutions for SAF projects worldwide.

Velocys’ microFTL technology underpins several commercial-scale SAF projects, converting waste and biomass feedstocks into drop-in fuels that comply with international aviation standards. This agreement supports the wider commercial rollout of low-carbon fuels, helping airlines and fuel suppliers to advance their decarbonisation strategies at scale.
