Transition Industries Taps Bonatti for Key Infrastructure on Pacifico Mexinol

news item image
Transition Industries has signed a Heads of Agreement with energy contractor Bonatti S.p.A. to deliver critical infrastructure for the Pacifico Mexinol project in Sinaloa, Mexico – set to become the world’s largest standalone ultra-low carbon methanol facility.

The scope includes upgrading port facilities and jetties at Topolobampo for methanol exports, installing transfer pipelines, vapor recovery systems, and dual fibre optic lines. Bonatti may also construct a closed-loop water pipeline system that will recycle municipal wastewater for all site needs, avoiding freshwater use and protecting the Bay of Ohuira.

When operational in 2029, Pacifico Mexinol will produce 350,000 MT of green methanol and 1.8 million MT of blue methanol annually, with carbon capture technology reducing its environmental footprint.
