Thermax has secured exclusive rights to manufacture and install HydrogenPro’s alkaline electrolyser technology across India. Under the deal, HydrogenPro will license its technology, supply stacks, and provide technical support, while Thermax will locally design and build system components integrated with HydrogenPro stacks.
The partnership will begin by setting up a cutting-edge short-stack test station at Thermax’s Pune facility. This move aligns with industry trends of licensing to enable low-capex growth in fast-growing markets.
HydrogenPro CEO Jarle Dragvik called it an “important entry” and a “solid foothold” in India’s drive to decarbonise industry through green hydrogen. Thermax CEO Ashish Bhandari said the deal allows them to immediately offer proven alkaline solutions for industrial use.
This is Thermax’s second electrolyser licensing deal, following a non-exclusive agreement with Ceres Power last year.
