Norsk e-Fuel, a developer of e-Fuel plants producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), has secured a new investment from Finnish investor Tesi to fuel its Nordic expansion. This follows a funding round earlier this year led by Prime Capital, with co-investors including Paul Wurth (SMS group), Norwegian, and Sunfire.
Norsk e-Fuel is advancing two planned projects in Finland – a more advanced facility in Rauma and a second production site in Imatra. The company produces synthetic fuels by combining hydrogen and CO₂ using fossil-free electricity, aiming to significantly reduce aviation emissions across Europe.
Lars Bjørn Larsen, CEO of Norsk e-Fuel, said: “Tesi’s strong experience in scaling industrial and sustainable ventures make them an ideal partner as we advance our project pipeline in Finland and beyond.”
Esa Koponen, Investment Director at Tesi, added: “Under its new investment strategy, Tesi can also invest in new industrial-scale projects to help establish new industry in Finland that utilises clean electricity and supports the energy transition. The Norsk e-Fuel project in Rauma, which promotes the sustainability of air travel and Finland’s energy security, is an excellent example of an investment aligned with our new strategy.”
