Stargate Hydrogen, a European deep-tech and green hydrogen technologies manufacturer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia’s Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDI). The agreement accelerates Stargate’s Middle East expansion as it establishes its regional headquarters in Riyadh.

The partnership supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals by strengthening the hydrogen value chain, driving industrial decarbonisation, and positioning the Kingdom as a global hub for clean energy technologies. Key areas include launching Stargate Hydrogen KSA, localising proprietary technologies, partnering with academic institutions such as KAUST to generate IP, and developing local electrolyser manufacturing capacity.

A joint steering committee will oversee the MoU, supported by dedicated teams and regular workshops to ensure alignment across government, industry, and academia. The cooperation was facilitated by Apex Ventures under RDI’s Global Startups Attraction Program in collaboration with the Ministry of Investment.

By combining Saudi Arabia’s long-term sustainability ambitions with Stargate Hydrogen’s expertise, the partnership sets a new benchmark for international collaboration in green hydrogen.
