Siemens and Paragon Partner to Scale Breakthrough Green Hydrogen Technology

news item image
Siemens and UK-based Paragon Resources have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to scale up a pioneering hydrogen production process that requires no fossil fuels, external electricity, or carbon capture. The innovative method, developed by Paragon, generates green hydrogen by reacting recycled, treated aluminium with water and a catalyst, producing hydrogen, heat, and aluminium hydroxide as by-products.

Unlike traditional electrolysis or methane reforming, Paragon’s process is emission-free and designed with minimal environmental impact. The resulting aluminium hydroxide has further industrial applications, and the generated heat can be converted into electricity, enhancing the process’s overall efficiency and sustainability.

Through the MoU, Siemens will help industrialise the technology by introducing automation, AI, and digital twin capabilities via its Siemens Xcelerator platform. This will enable remote monitoring, optimise performance, and strengthen cybersecurity.
