SIAD Americas LLC has been selected to provide a 3,500 MTPD air separation unit (ASU) for the Pacifico Mexinol ultra-low carbon methanol project in Sinaloa, Mexico. The ASU will produce high-purity oxygen to support the project’s gasification and carbon capture processes.
The project is led by SIAD Macchine Impianti and will leverage SIAD’s global engineering network, with support from Bergamo, Italy; The Woodlands, Texas; and Hangzhou, China. Equipment will be sourced from the US, China, and Europe, with fabrication carried out in Hangzhou and Porto Marghera, Italy.
Once operational in 2029, Pacifico Mexinol is expected to be the world’s largest standalone ultra-low-carbon chemical production facility, producing green hydrogen and green methanol at scale. The project is being developed by Transition Industries in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
The ASU will be designed for efficiency, reliability, and net-zero carbon emissions, with SIAD’s global execution model optimising both schedule and cost.
