Qair has secured €55 million to develop its Hyd’Occ renewable hydrogen ecosystem in Occitanie, France, advancing its green hydrogen strategy. The funding, secured in partnership with Crédit Agricole and Bpifrance, will support the construction of the Hyd’Occ H₂ production facility in Port-La Nouvelle and five refuelling stations along key regional transport routes. The first production unit is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2025.
The project represents a fully integrated solution for the production, transport, and distribution of renewable hydrogen, supporting the decarbonisation of road transport and the wider energy transition. The initial 20 MW phase will produce 2,700 tonnes of renewable hydrogen annually, avoiding 27,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year, with a second phase set to double production to 5,400 tonnes annually.
Hyd’Occ will feed a regional hydrogen mobility network, including stations in Narbonne and Béziers, part of the “Corridor H2” initiative connecting the Iberian Peninsula to Northern Europe. The project is backed by offtake agreements with major players, including Plug Power and Hydromer, securing over 1,500 tonnes of hydrogen per year. Deliveries of renewable hydrogen are expected to start by the end of 2025.
