Power to Hydrogen (P2H2), a leader in next-generation hydrogen production systems, has been awarded a €900,000 grant from the European Regional Development Fund, administered by VLAIO, Flanders Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The funding will accelerate deployment of P2H2’s Hybrid AEM electrolysers at its commercial project in Antwerp, Belgium.
The project will see the installation of the largest AEM electrolysis stacks ever used in a commercial setting, representing a tenfold scale-up compared to existing technologies. P2H2’s Hybrid AEM technology is designed to integrate seamlessly with renewable energy, supporting grid modernisation and delivering reliable, clean hydrogen for industrial and mobility applications.
By combining the cost advantages of alkaline electrolysers with the performance of PEM systems, P2H2’s solution offers high efficiency and durability at lower cost, creating a new category of industrial-scale electrolysers. The grant enables the company to demonstrate the technology at scale, strengthen grid stability, and contribute to Europe’s broader transition to a zero-carbon economy.
