NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ENEOS Corporation of Japan to explore a long-term supply partnership for green methanol and other hydrogen derivative products.

The agreement was exchanged on 10 October 2025 during World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. It builds on NGEL’s plans to develop a 1,200-acre Green Hydrogen Hub in Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh, designed as an integrated production and export facility for green chemicals.

By combining ENEOS’s demand for hydrogen-based fuels with NGEL’s renewable energy expertise, the partnership marks a key step in advancing industrial decarbonisation and supporting India’s goal of reaching 60 GW of renewable capacity by 2032.
