MorGen Picks ITM’s 20MW Electrolyser for Government-Backed West Wales Hydrogen Project
ITM Power will supply a 20MW skid-mounted Poseidon electrolyser to MorGen Energy’s West Wales Hydrogen Project, located on the former Milford Haven refinery site. The green hydrogen plant will serve nearby industrial clusters and mobility projects.
The development is one of 10 projects awarded revenue support under the UK’s first Hydrogen Allocation Round (HAR1), securing a strike price of around £241/MWh and capex funding via the Net Zero Hydrogen Fund. MorGen aims to break ground in 2025, pending final investment decision.
MorGen CEO Werner Lieberherr said ITM’s technology will help deliver environmental benefits and economic growth for the region, while ITM CEO Dennis Schulz called the deal a sign of confidence in the company’s delivery capability and green hydrogen’s role in the energy transition.
