Lummus Technology, a global provider of process technologies and energy solutions, and Advanced Ionics, a low-cost green hydrogen technology provider, have begun construction on a pilot plant for Advanced Ionics’ innovative electrolyser technology.
The pilot plant will be located at Lummus Technology’s R&D facility in Pasadena, Texas, where Lummus will operate the electrolyser and manage balance-of-plant systems. Advanced Ionics will supply its high-efficiency electrolyser, designed to produce green hydrogen with lower energy requirements.
The project builds on the partnership established in 2024 between Lummus and Advanced Ionics, aimed at advancing cost-effective and sustainable hydrogen technologies. The pilot will demonstrate real-world performance and integration of the electrolyser , providing a critical step toward commercial deployment.
This collaboration underscores the growing role of green hydrogen in decarbonizing industrial processes, transportation, and power generation, and highlights the potential for scalable, practical, and economically viable solutions for the energy transition.
