Kelington Group Berhad has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Worldwide Energy Development and SKS Coachbuilders to jointly develop a 2 MW green hydrogen production hub at the Batang Kali Small Hydropower Plant in Selangor.

The project will produce green hydrogen via electrolysis powered entirely by renewable energy from the 5.1 MW Batang Kali SHP, which began operations in December 2024. Kelington, through its subsidiary Ace Gases, will lead the development and operation of the electrolyser plant, as well as drive market development and commercial opportunities arising from hydrogen adoption.

Worldwide Energy will provide land, renewable power, water, and regulatory support, while SKS Coachbuilders will integrate downstream applications, including hydrogen fuel cell electric buses and associated refuelling infrastructure, supporting local industry participation and job creation.

The initiative forms part of Selangor’s wider sustainability and green technology agenda, including the Selangor Hydrogen Oriented Resources Programme (SHORE), which aims to advance hydrogen adoption across the state. The MoU is effective for two years, with the option to extend, marking a strategic step toward building a regional green hydrogen ecosystem.
