KBR has been awarded a technology and engineering contract by IGNIS for a new green ammonia facility in A Coruña, Spain.
The contract covers proprietary engineering design and pre-FEED services for a 200,000 tons-per-year green ammonia plant. The facility will use renewable energy to produce green hydrogen, which will be converted into green ammonia. Green ammonia is a versatile product, serving as a renewable fertilizer, an efficient medium for storing and transporting energy, and a clean fuel.
KBR’s decades of experience in ammonia technology, combined with complementary solutions such as H2ACT® ammonia cracking, position the company as a global leader in delivering energy-efficient ammonia plants at reduced capital costs. Since 1943, KBR has licensed, engineered, or constructed over 260 grassroots ammonia plants worldwide, bringing unmatched expertise to the project.
