Integrated Lab Solutions (ILS) has been awarded the contract to design and construct a pilot-scale e-fuels demonstration plant for Spark e-Fuels in Berlin. The facility, located at the Science and Technology Park Berlin Adlershof, will be fully automated and operated with real chemical processes in ILS’s testing laboratories.

Spark e-Fuels, which originated from research at Technische Universität Berlin, is focused on developing sustainable aviation fuels. The new pilot plant represents an important step in moving its technology from laboratory to industrial scale. ILS’s expertise in plant engineering, combined with the strong research ecosystem at Adlershof, were decisive factors in the partnership.

The collaboration is expected to accelerate efforts to commercialise e-fuels and contribute to the decarbonisation of aviation.
