Infinium has announced project financing for its Roadrunner Project in Reeves County, Texas, through a credit facility with HSBC – marking a major milestone for one of the first large-scale synthetic fuel plants in the United States.

The project, developed by Roadrunner One, LLC, an Infinium affiliate, is backed by investors including Brookfield Asset Management, Breakthrough Energy Catalyst, and Infinium. Once operational, it will produce around 23,000 tonnes (7.6 million gallons) of eSAF and other low-carbon e-Fuels annually, using captured CO₂ and renewable electricity.

Offtake agreements are already in place with American Airlines and IAG, the parent of British Airways and Aer Lingus.

“This is not just a milestone for Roadrunner, but validation of the commercial maturity of the e-Fuels sector,” said Robert Schuetzle, CEO of Infinium. “This transaction demonstrates how e-Fuel projects can be structured as viable, financeable assets in the evolving energy economy.”

HSBC acted as Sole Lead Arranger and Sole Lender, supporting the transaction with tailored financing. The bank called the deal a strong signal of its commitment to enabling emerging decarbonisation technologies.

Construction is currently underway, positioning Roadrunner as a flagship for privately financed, next-generation fuel infrastructure in the U.S.
