Hitachi Energy to Deliver Electrical Infrastructure for Arcadia eFuels’ Danish e-SAF Plant

news item image
Hitachi Energy has signed a definitive Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) agreement with Arcadia eFuels to supply the complete electrical infrastructure for Arcadia’s forthcoming e-SAF production facility in Vordingborg, Denmark.

The project will be among the world’s first large-scale e-SAF plants, designed to produce around 80,000 tonnes of eFuels annually and avoid more than 260,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.

Under the agreement, Hitachi Energy will deliver a battery energy storage system (BESS), full grid connection, and complete system engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning services. The facility will operate entirely on renewable electricity, enabling the production of sustainable aviation fuel without fossil inputs.

The project supports EU climate objectives and highlights how international collaboration and advanced technology can accelerate the energy transition in the aviation sector.
