Guofu Hydrogen Energy Equipment (GuoFuHEE) has secured a RMB150 million (US$21 million) contract to supply 100MW of pressurised alkaline electrolysers and hydrogen production systems to Hami Tonghuide Green Casting in Xinjiang. The order includes 22 sets of 5MW electrolysers along with gas-liquid treatment units, control systems and safety monitoring.

The hydrogen will be produced from Xinjiang’s abundant wind and solar resources and used directly in metallurgical processes, marking one of China’s first large-scale green hydrogen applications in heavy industry. The agreement strengthens long-term cooperation between the partners and positions Guofu at the forefront of “green power-to-hydrogen” metallurgy.

Industry analysts see the project as a milestone in scaling hydrogen use for industrial decarbonisation, supporting China’s dual-carbon goals of peaking emissions before 2030 and reaching neutrality by 2060.
