Fjord PtX has successfully completed its 16-month pre-FEED (Front End Engineering Design) phase. In a post on Linkedin ,the company said: 'This extensive period was used to develop an optimized Basis of Design to ensure the most competitive end-product eSAF (electro-synthetic Sustainable Aviation Fuels).'
During this pre-FEED period, the Fjord PtX project team has, with the support of Wood as Owner’s engineer, worked closely with Saipem and Tecnicas Reunidas, two major international leading Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors, under a design competition setting.
Fjord PtX is now preparing to enter the FEED (Front End Engineering Design) phase, the last development step toward Final Investment Decision in 2027.
Tanguy Cosmao, project director at Fjord PtX, says: 'Working closely and collaboratively with Tier-1 contractors, and their respective technology licensors, have been key to reach this stage successfully. The high-quality pre-FEED, now completed, has provided Fjord PtX with a clear project definition, in particular multiple production line configuration, substantial eSAF storage, grid connection size and the expected overall performance on the plant. Fjord PtX has now confirmed a robust technical foundation to enter the FEED phase in 2026.'
