news item image
CHARBONE Hydrogen has announced major progress at its flagship Sorel-Tracy site, moving closer to first hydrogen production. The project has now secured both essential inputs for electrolysis, with Hydro-Québec completing the electrical interconnection and the Sorel-Tracy Water Department installing new piping to a 14-inch main line. Civil construction has also begun, with contractors preparing the site for equipment deliveries in the coming weeks.

In parallel, CHARBONE worked with Tetra Tech and Quebec’s Ministry of the Environment to successfully relocate a rare plant species found onsite, ensuring environmental protection while construction advances. CEO Dave Gagnon said these achievements mark critical milestones and confirm that the project remains on track to begin production this fall.

On the financial side, CHARBONE has settled $118,095 in payables through a share issuance and confirmed the closing of US$1.5 million in convertible notes, which includes the issuance of 2.1 million warrants to its placement agent. The company said these measures reflect its commitment to prudent cash management as it advances toward production.
