Alby PtX AB, a joint venture between Norsk e-Fuel and Prime Capital with support from RES, has appointed Ramboll as Owner’s Technical Consultant (OTC) for its planned e-Fuel production facility in Alby, Sweden. The project will produce sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) to support the decarbonisation of the aviation sector.

The appointment marks a key milestone as Alby PtX moves from development into implementation planning. Ramboll, an international engineering and consultancy company with extensive experience in energy and industrial infrastructure, will advance the plant’s technical concept and prepare it for detailed engineering and future construction.

As Owner’s Technical Consultant, Ramboll will support Alby PtX with technical integration, design development, and project planning to ensure the facility is developed on a solid technical, environmental, and regulatory foundation. The consultancy will also advise on project coordination and management systems, helping maintain quality, schedule, and risk control throughout the development phase. This engagement provides independent technical assurance and prepares the project for bankability and long-term investment readiness.

The Alby PtX facility will contribute to Sweden’s renewable energy and sustainable aviation goals by producing e-Fuels derived from water, electricity, and captured carbon. The project is expected to strengthen the industrial base of Västernorrland County and support regional green transition initiatives.
