Accelera is supplying a 5 MW proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyser system to Tyczka Hydrogen GmbH for installation at the Port of Schweinfurt in Bavaria, Germany. Powered by solar and wind energy, the system will generate up to 2.2 tonnes of green hydrogen per day to support mobility, industrial and research applications in central Germany.
The facility will feature two HyLYZER 500 units from Accelera and is expected to cut more than 6,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually, equivalent to removing around 1,400 cars from the road. Tyczka will integrate the production into its Bavarian hydrogen hub, distributing the output through its established trailer fleet and network.
The project has received €5 million in funding from the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs under its Electrolyser Funding Program. The Schweinfurt site provides access to major highways, industrial infrastructure and the SüdLink DC grid connection, ensuring secure supply of renewable energy.
